HOTEL GRAND PACIFIC BRINGS IN THE HOLIDAYS WITH GOOD CHEER ALL AROUND

Victoria property offers seasonal highlights and holiday moments for locals and visitors alike

October 17, 2011; Victoria, B.C. – The Hotel Grand Pacific is preparing to deck the halls and toast the holidays with lashings of festive cheer this year. From holiday cocktails in The Pacific, through to a yuletide buffet with all the trimmings, and the annual Bear Wear event, the hotel is looking forward to welcoming visitors to Victoria and locals to bring in the season. Amongst beautiful holiday decorations inside and out, guests at the Hotel Grand Pacific will find a myriad of ways to celebrate the season. The Pacific Restaurant‘s much-loved Christmas Lunch Buffet is back – at just $28 per person, it’s perfect for a catch-up lunch with a friend, entertaining clients or a treat before hitting Victoria’s shopping streets. Choose from a spread of dishes including roasted turkey with double smoked bacon and apple dressing; roasted beet salad with arugula, frisée, goat cheese, ginger orange vinaigrette; pan-seared salmon in citrus cream broth; and desserts including warm Christmas pudding, chocolate mousse and mincemeat tarts. The buffet is available from December 7 through 23 inclusive, from 12:00pm – 2:00pm each day. “This is our favourite time of year at the hotel,” said General Manager, Reid James. “It’s a time to share a special meal, get together with friends over a drink, take in Victoria’s spectacular lights, and remember how fortunate we are. We love setting the scene for a great holiday experience for our guests.”The annual Bear Wear event, benefitting the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children is back at the Hotel Grand Pacific for another year. Running from November 24 – January 3, 2012, a display of teddy bears dressed up for the season by local companies will grace the hotel’s lobby, providing a family-friendly free event for all. Each bear is sponsored and dressed by a Victoria business in exchange for a donation to the foundation’s School Age Program, providing support for kids who experience trouble transitioning into school. More information about the event can be found at www.queenalexandra.org.

Those looking to add some additional Christmas cheer will love The Pacific Lounge‘s range of holiday cocktails – just the thing to toast the season or bring in the New Year. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are available, all specially created to capture the celebratory spirit. Creations include:
